What is EWOC?
The San Francisco Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (SF EWOC) supports non-union workers trying to organize their co-workers and fight for better conditions at work.
We are a local group affiliated with the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC) project, which was founded by national DSA and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE).
If you are interested in organizing your workplace, you can request support here. Workers who request support are connected with experienced volunteer organizers who provide one-on-one guidance through the organizing process.
It does not matter how big or small your workplace is, your industry, or if you have any organizing experience–you and your co-workers can organize and win. Our trained organizers can help you along the way.
Get Organized
In addition to working with an SF EWOC organizer, you can participate in regularly-held trainings through the national EWOC project to build up your own organizing skills. This live, interactive training will teach you the basics about organizing your workplace, including how to talk to co-workers about the issues that matter most to them, how to bring co-workers together, how to formulate effective demands, analyze power, and stand up to anti-union bosses.
You can also find resources about what unions are, how they benefit workers, and how to organize one here.
